Introduction
Hi, my name is Tristan, and I am currently a Business Information Systems student at the University of Nevada, Reno. I grew up in Reno, Nevada, and decided to attend UNR because it is both a highly rated school and close to home, allowing me to stay connected with my friends and family while continuing my education.
Being able to grow up and study in the same area has given me a strong sense of community and support, which has helped me stay motivated and focused on my goals.
Education & Career Goals
I am currently working toward my bachelor’s degree in business information systems, where I am learning how technology and business operations connect. I chose this major because I am interested in working with data, systems, and emerging technologies that help businesses operate more efficiently.
My long-term goal is to work at a tech company where I can contribute to innovative solutions, especially in the field of machine learning. I am particularly interested in how machine learning can be used ethically to improve people’s lives, solve real-world problems, and support better decision-making.
Work Experience & Skills
I have developed strong professional skills through my experience working in fast-paced environments, especially in customer service and team-based roles. These experiences have helped me build communication, adaptability, and problem-solving skills that are valuable in both business and technology settings.
I currently work as a server at Miyabi Japanese Cuisine, where I manage multiple tables and responsibilities at once while maintaining a high level of service. This role has strengthened my ability to stay organized, think quickly, and handle pressure effectively.
In addition, I have worked at Starbucks, Papa Murphy’s, and completed an internship at Disney World. Each of these experiences has helped me develop a strong work ethic, learn how to work within structured systems, and improve my ability to collaborate with others in fast-paced environments.

Interests & Hobbies
Outside of school and work, I enjoy traveling and experiencing new places. One of my favorite recent trips was to Norway, where I had the opportunity to explore new environments, see different landscapes, and experience a completely different culture. Traveling has helped me become more open-minded and interested in learning about the world.
I also enjoy off-roading and spending time outdoors. Driving and working on my Jeep is one of my favorite hobbies, and I enjoy the challenge and freedom that comes with it. It’s something that allows me to step away from school and work while still staying active and engaged.
Goals & Aspirations
My goal is to build a successful career in the technology industry, specifically working with data and machine learning. I am motivated to continue developing my technical skills and gaining experience that will help me grow in this field.
I am especially interested in using technology in a way that is ethical and beneficial to society. I want to be part of creating solutions that not only improve businesses but also have a positive and meaningful impact on people’s lives
